Seventeen years ago, the WaveMasters decided to hold a
contest in hopes of attracting a bevy of bikini-clad girls, and in the process,
raise a little money for local charities. Today, that contest has evolved into
Florida’s largest and most prestigious open amateur surfing contest. This
annual contest attracts over 300 competitors from all over the southeast and
draws thousands of enthusiastic spectators.
